`Private Chas. Oglesby Hardy a volunteer from 4th Lt Drags of long service in India has [been] rather
of a healthy constitution not having suffered from any particular complaint until Novr. '42 when he was
admitted for Dracunculus in left leg the ankle joint suffered exceedingly from the length of time this
diseased state continued the confinement to Hospl. consequent on this complaint together with the
length of service has completely undermined the system. [signed E _ Stone]'

Opinion of the Principal Medical Officer:
`at Chatham 15 Jun 1846. After examination at this general Hospital I am of opinion that Private
Charles Oglesby Hardy is unfit for service and is likely to be permanently disqualified for military duty.
