Soldier's Funeral - On Tuesday last, the imposing pageant of a military burial took place. The deceased was a private of the 4th Light Dragoons, named Moss, and was one of the troop that entered Carmarthen on the memorable 19th of June during the attack upon the Workhouse. He had left his regiment upon furlough, being then evidently in a deep decline, and had been but a short time in this town before death released him from his sufferings. The troops stationed in Carmarthen formed the funeral procession, which had a very solemn appearance. The usual volleys were fired over the grave by a party of the 1st Dragoon Guards, and the ceremony terminated by the troops marching home at quick step. It being the first funeral of a horse-soldier ever seen in Carmarthen, hundreds of the inhabitants were attracted to witness it.
