DESCRIPTION - A short history of the "Plain Jane" SD 14 cargo ships design from the Sunderland shipbuilders Austin & Pickersgill Ltd and other shipbuilders, with an extensive and illustrated fleet list. In the mid 1960s, shipbuilders Austin and Pickersgill designed a basic standardized general-purpose cargo vessel to be built at their Sunderland yard and to be offered to other manufacturers to produce under license. This catalogue contains detailed information and photographs of every SD14 built in English, Scottish, Greek, Brazilian and Argentinian yards.
