DESCRIPTION - `Tell us a Yarn, Sailor. Something of places you have seen, men you have met, humorous or otherwise. Ships you have seen abroad at sea anywhere. Anything but army life.' Occasionally when a few or more were together of our happy-go-lucky but efficient men of the 1914-18 war, this request for a sea-story would come. There are not many left of that original battlalion, but a few may read these stories and remember. Another war is over. There are many who would welcome a yarn without reminder of army life. Other than those in `Quiet Sector' the stories are more or less what have been told, and I have been asked to write some of them for publication.
