DESCRIPTION - The various characters represented in this tale are drawn from life and are by no means extraordinary of their class. The incidents at sea described within are not unusual, the writer having made use of experiences common to the lot of the deep-sea fishermen of America's Atlantic coast. The author has portrayed the characteristics of the most fearless, skilful, and daring type of seafarers left in this latter-day age of steam.
