CONDITION - Hardback first edition in blue cloth with gilt titles and ornamentation. The book has some rubbing and bumping on the top and bottom edges and corners, and 50% of the spine is missing. The spine that is present is held only by the front hinge and it, and the surrounding front and back cover has the white crystalized residue of the tape that was previously used to mend the spine and has since been removed. Inside the endpapers and adjacent 3-5 pages show bad to medium foxing and the index has small blue ticks and year notations throughout, but the rest of the pages are mostly clean and bright for their age, and the binding is good. No dustwrapper.
