Andrell, Thomas William, Hairdresser, Tobacconist and Perfumer,
17 Willis Street, Wellington. Bankers, National Bank of New Zealand.
Private residence: Courtenay Place. This business was founded about
the end of July, 1895. The shop is well situated, not far from the
Evening Post corner, and has a capital show window, which is
filled with new and attractive stock. The saloon contains two barber's
chairs, and is otherwise well appointed. Mr Andrell makes a speciality
of hair work for ladies and gentlemen. The proprietor was born in
Blenheim and served his time with Messrs. Aldous and Son, of Wellington.
Having completed his apprenticeship on the 24th of May, 1888, he
entered into business on his own account in Blenheim, and conducted a
steady trade till July, 1892. At this time he accepted a position in
the establishment of Messrs. Wise and Speed, Wellington, and remained
with that firm until April, 1894, when he returned to the firm with
whom he learned his trade, remaining till the present business was
established.
