Brightwell, Edwin, Farmer, `Brooklands,' Westmere, Wanganui. Mr. Brightwell's farm of 200 acres, is extremely fertile and well-adapted,
for fruit-growing, twenty-five acres being so employed. Mr. Brightwell was born in 1845 in Wellington where he was educated. After working on his
father's farm at the Hutt, and then in the Wairarapa, he established himself in business in Wellington in 1870 as a general storekeeper, three years later
opening in Palmerston North, where he remained for nine years. He then came to Wanganui, where he became a commission agent, from which he
retired in favour of farming and fruit-growing pursuits.
